FUTURE FAIR 2022

Laney Contemporary is pleased to exhibit new works by Jiha Moon, Todd Schroeder and Hasani Sahlehe at Future Fair in Chelsea during the inaugural New York Art Week. Jiha Moon’s ceramic and found-object sculptures entangle traditional Korean iconography with pop culture references. Moon’s deeply personal yet playful work  speaks to a multitude of cultures and her detailed linework encourages closer inspection. Todd Schroeder’s grid-informed, atomized dot paintings are created through a meditative breathing technique. Schroeder’s compositions and colors merge together abstraction and semiotics, emotion and translation into a mix that is “equal parts Rothko and road sign.” Hasani Sahlehe’s luminous, experimental works result in multi-dimensional paintings that provide an active sense of openness and summon the supernatural. Sahlehe uses color and tactility to exude spirituality and music in the form of abstracted, visual memory.

In 2017, Laney Contemporary opened in Savannah to provide a platform for emerging and established contemporary artists based in the Southeast. We are excited to exhibit these three Georgia-based artists at Future Fair, booth U3 from May 4th - 7th.
