With all eyes on Georgia’s senate runoff election on January 5, curators Sarah Higgins and Melissa Messina together with Laney Contemporary have organized a virtual exhibition on Artsy to motivate collectors to support GA artists while funding Get Out the Vote initiatives. All Eyes on GA showcases 16 Georgia-based artists—early to mid-career from Atlanta and Savannah —with 50% of every sale going to support voting rights initiatives in the State and 50% directly to the artists. The donated 50% will be divided equally between Fair Fight (fairfight.com), When We All Vote (whenweallvote.org), and Georgia STAND-UP (georgiastandup.org). The exhibition will run Friday, Dec. 11 – Friday, Dec. 25, 2020. Laney Contemporary is waiving any commission to support the donation. Shipping will be billed at cost and arrangements for shipping will begin in mid January, 2021. Artists and selected works have been curated by Sarah Higgins, Editor and Artistic Director of Art Papers, and Melissa Messina, Independent Curator, Curatorial Advisor and Curator of the Mildred Thompson Estate, and the exhibition is hosted on Artsy by Laney Contemporary.
